Connetable Talbot Vintage 1996 MagnumThe second wine of Chateau Talbot, which for the last century has been owned by Cordier Family The chteau takes its name from the Conntable Talbot, whom this wine is named after, an English soldier and governor of Guyenne who was defeated in battle by the French at Castillon in 1453. The 1996 vintage was good for the region. Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot. 75cl bottle. 12% ABV Bottle condition, Capsule good, label good, wine

The 2011 vintage was said to be down to the skill of the wine makers after a tricky growing season

On the nose

first saw the Napnook vineyard in 1981 and was convinced he could create a world class wine

It is savoury and does lack all the vibrant fruit of the 2020 and 2019
