The Atlantic crossing was harshten days of cold, crowded, uncertain travelmarking a painful separation from everything she knew. Arriving in Halifax, she began again, eventually settling in Vancouver and embracing a new life. As a young woman in Canada, she gathered the clothes and accessories that would
