this is very nice quality project and it's a new larger item that we wanted to see

You could draw a design onto the ornament and paint with a fine brush or a writer bottle

The only caveat (but it's an important one) is that you really can't decorate on top of it because it flows and colors on top will meld into it and not look good or stand out

and other guests have highlighted the high points on the edges with a dark color and fan-brushed the inside shell portions lightly

We typically see this only for much larger pieces where "cleaning" the green-ware in an area would be very difficult and/or painting in an area would be challenging
