19th Century French Tapestry Four Panel Room Divider / Screen Art NouveauA 19th century French tapestry four panel room divider of large proportions depicting trees, foliage and a river with a distant mountainous landscape and chateau. The tapestry colours have faded throughout as is usual however some small pieces of colour remain, most notably to the flowers. The screen shows wear commensurate with age, particularly to the extremities where some fraying is apparent, but nonetheless the divider remains an attractive piece

but does remain closed when the clasp lever is down and remains closed whilst being carried

There is a wood shrinkage split across the front left of the coffer

in matching original gilt wood frames

The hinges and lock are their original brass (please note there is no key for the box)

The tower consists of four tiers

but otherwise remains good with no fading to the plate
