Cuvée Charbonniéres 2022 Producer|Cantina GiardinoWhilst we've been enjoying some of the drier expressions of Mazel whites in recent vintages, here we hark back to the wild, vinous Chardonnay of 2022, a wine bottled under a crown cap with residual sugar remaining, invigorating the palate as a a fine Lambic beer might, rather than a typical wine. Whilst having the obvious potential to drink alongside cheeses or sweeter dishes, the Oustrics prefer to open this ice cold as a bracing aperitif; its sweet

tart strawberries and under-ripe cherries

with no additions at any stage

bold Georgian red fermented and aged in traditional Qvevri

The 2024 iteration of this wine is hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed

subtle bitters on the palate

this one is full of summery berry fruits and is best enjoyed outdoors when le ciel est bleu (the sky is blue)

Balanced out by a good amount of spice and stone fruits

The Sangiovese and Merlot are planted at 350 metres altitude over rocky limestone and clay

Made from 100% native Sicilian Grillo planted on limestone and clay

whilst blood orange and bitter herbs offer refreshment in spades
